Hunt NYC Subway Art with your camera and AI

The Mission:

Find all the MTA subway art in New York City! There are 381 pieces of art lurking in the MTA stations around you.

Do you ever take photos of things in the subway and wonder if they are art?

Photograph the art first to claim it and you can leave your photo and a message of your thoughts for all to see.

How to Play:

  1. Search the subways for art and take a photo if you think you see something beautiful.
  2. AI will look over your photo and confirm if it is art and tell you about the artist. (Using feature extraction and approximate nearest neighbor search).
  3. If you are the first to find and photograph a piece of art, you can leave a message for the public and the photo you took for all to see.

It's like a remnant of the past that we’re reminded of daily as we pass by.
